You Never Know, It Just Might Be You! is an interactive installation the deals with pop culture, labor, and object valuation. A large display case contains small sculptures that feature lyrics by female pop singers about labor and capital. The sculptures are displayed with their actual price in USD and their equivalent value in tokens that can be won from the slot machine. Viewers are offered one free token to play in the machine, which they could potentially turn into enough tokens to exchange for one of the sculptures. The installation also features a looping video of clips taken from The Price is Right, cut together with footage of the available prizes. The lyrics on the available prizes remind the viewer humorously of the labor of the artist. The capriciousness of the slot machine results evokes the nature of product and labor valuation within a capitalist system.
